True Strength Awareness

Former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl Champion Jordan Hicks is entering a new chapter—one that focuses on purpose, empowerment, and community impact. Through his True Strength Ability Awareness Foundation, Hicks is working to inspire young people with disabilities, helping them recognize their own gifts, build confidence, and feel included both on and off the field.

During a recent conversation with Trey Elling on The Life of Sport Radio, Hicks opened up about the next big step for the foundation: bringing True Strength Nights directly to local schools across Austin, Texas.

Hicks explained that the idea behind True Strength Nights is simple, yet powerful—creating school-wide events that celebrate ability, raise awareness, and spark meaningful conversations about inclusion. These nights will give students the chance to connect, learn, and hear stories from individuals who embody resilience and courage.

“We want kids to see that strength isn’t just about physical ability,” Hicks told Elling. “It’s about character, empathy, and the way we show up for each other. True Strength Nights will help us build that culture in Austin schools.”

The events will feature interactive activities, guest speakers, mentorship opportunities, and community engagement stations designed to bring students, teachers, and families together. Hicks emphasized that the foundation’s mission is to empower—not simply to raise awareness, but to inspire action within each school community.

As he continues his journey off the football field, Jordan Hicks is proving that leadership doesn’t end when the pads come off. With the launch of True Strength Nights in Austin schools, he’s laying the groundwork for a movement focused on inclusion, compassion, and the belief that every student deserves the chance to realize their own “true strength.”
